My Devotion

If you read the definition of "pretty" that I posted above, you will see there is such thing as a "pretty poem"! This excited me in that I LOVE poems! Consequently, today while at work, I decided that I would write a pretty one. Here it is!

My Devotion
I am grateful for my talents,
my passions and my loves.
They bear witness of a father
who adores me from above.
With the gifts he grants me,
I anticipate to share,
so that I may show him
how much I truly care.

Don't need a rainbow to smile at the sky!

So here I was, last night, in my bright green Nike capri's thinking... "what a boring night. I need something to do." Suddenly my brother Chris comes running down the stairs and says, "Look! there is a cool rainbow!" It was a double rainbow and you could see the whole arc! It indeed was one of the most brilliant rainbows I had ever seen. As you can suppose, I hussled to find my camera, but it took me a while. Why? I had left it in my car. Sadly to say, by this time the rainbows had faded signifigantly.
Although I was discouraged about missing the rainbows, I did not have time to feel sorry for my self. As you can see, the sky was still full of excitement!

This is one of my favorite spots in Leduc. There are many qualities that make it such a beautiful resivoir. I will list a few. The whole body of water is surrounded by cat tails and tall green grass which help provide many ducks, geese and other organisms a peaceful habitat. I go running on the path that surrounds it, and my favorite time is in the spring because there are scads of little ducklings running around. Lastly, as you can see in the pictures, the greenery and reflection in the water is a magnificent compliment to our daily sunrises and sunsets.

I posted the below scripture taken from the Doctrine and Covenants, because it does a better job at describing how I feel than I do!
Doctrine and Covenants 128:23
Let the mountains shout for joy, and all ye valleys cry aloud; and all ye seas and dry lands tell the wonders of your Eternal King! And ye rivers, and brooks, and rills, flow down with gladness. Let the woods and all the trees of the field praise the Lord; and ye solid rocks weep for joy! And let the sun, moon, and the morning stars sing together, and let all the sons of God shout for joy! And let the eternal creations declare his name forever and ever! And again I say, how glorious is the voice we hear from heaven, proclaiming in our ears, glory, and salvation, and honor, and immortality, and eternal life; kingdoms, principalities, and powers!

Sometimes we miss out on some of the good things in life such as a pretty rainbow. Through this experience, I have learned that in life it is when we dwell on what we are missing that we really miss out.

Till I capture a rainbow.... or two...check this one out!http://www.tahoetwisters.com/NaturePhoto/rainbow.htm

How about an Orange??

Wouldn't this be a rad night for halloween!? What a neat thing to see! It was as if the whole east side of the earth had lit on fire and shed it's light onto the west. Even my parent's trampoline looked as if it was orange! What a versatile sky we live under! Rainbows, pinks, blue orange...all in the same setting of the sun!

Busy Day!

Stephanie's wedding went very well. It was a very long day. 8 hours of standing with no food or drink actually went by a lot faster than you would normally think it would. I didn't have the time to even think about being hungry. Occasionally, though, my stomach would yell at me for everyone to hear. I guess it had the right to! I did 6 make-up applications and 7 girl's hair. That is a whole lot to do in 8 hours. When I worked in the salon you normally book about an hour for one updo, and when I was in make-up school we would get an hour and a half for one application.. When I have that much to get done on a deadline, I don't have time to do well basically anything but what i am there to do, and we all know what that is!
MAKE GIRLS PRETTY! or I guess you could say prettier.

Pretty Flower!

This is what I did while I was waiting for my nutso exlandlord...long story. Needless to say I had a bit of time.
They are so dainty! I love it!Do you ever wonder how many different types of flowers there are in the world? Buds are pretty too, even though they have no color yet. To the human eye they may not seem appealing or of worth but they hold such promising potential. If you feel like just a bud today....don't give up! Your true colors will some day show and may even help to illuminate the beautiful colors in those around you!

ART!

This is the painting that I did for my Mom's Bathroom! Common, that room has to have a little more pizzaz! It is done on Canvas with Acrylic Paint. This painting is done with one color and one staple. Can you guess them? I created dimension using different shades and tints. I am interested to hear your own interpretation of this painting. So far i have got. "an exploding flower" and "splash of water" ( suitable for there are many a kinds of splashes in the bathroom). My inspiration, odly enough, came from a flower on my old apartment wall paper that was probably almost 40 years old. Origionaly I wanted to create movement through the placement of geometric shapes. Although this did not happen, I did create a lot of movement. It's focal point is also very strong.
